Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect about you, including sensitive health data and prescriptions, how we use and protect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your personal data.

Last updated: 15 October 2026

1. About this policy

Anavrin Life Sciences(“Anavrin”, “we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy applies to personal information we process through this website. We handle health and prescription information with particular care, in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025, together with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules made under it.

For the purposes of the DPDP Act, 2023, Anavrin acts as the Data Fiduciary and you, the patient or user, are the Data Principal. Our Grievance Officer (see the last section) is your point of contact for any data-protection request or complaint.

2. Information we collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

  • Identity & contact details: name, phone number, email address and delivery address.
  • Prescriptions & health data:uploaded prescription documents, the medicines you order, dosage details and related information about the patient’s condition. This is treated as sensitive personal data.
  • Order & transaction data: order history and payment confirmation references. Card and bank details are handled by Razorpay (our payment-link provider) and are never stored by us.
  • WhatsApp and chat messages: what you write to us on WhatsApp or in the website chat, so we can answer and keep a record of your order.
  • Technical data: anonymous visit counts (see Cookies), and the device and browser details any website receives.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • verify prescriptions and process and fulfil your orders;
  • arrange delivery, including cold-chain handling where needed;
  • provide patient support, respond to queries and send updates;
  • send WhatsApp messages about your order and, if you are a regular patient, refill reminders and occasional service information. Reply STOP at any time to stop these messages;
  • comply with legal, regulatory and pharmacovigilance obligations;
  • detect and prevent fraud and misuse, and improve our services.

We process your health and prescription data only to the extent necessary to dispense medicines lawfully and to support your care, and only on the basis of your consent. In line with the DPDP Act, 2023, that consent is free, specific, informed, unconditional and unambiguous, is taken through a clear affirmative action when you submit a prescription or place an order, and is limited to the purposes set out in this policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting our Grievance Officer; withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out, and we may be unable to fulfil an order without the information needed to dispense it lawfully.

4. How we store & retain data

Your information is stored with reputed cloud service providers, some of whose servers are outside India (including in the USA), under terms that require them to protect it to a standard at least equal to Indian law. Uploaded prescriptions are kept in private storage that only Anavrin’s pharmacy and care team can open. We keep data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy or as required by law (for example, records relating to the dispensing of prescription medicines, and the Schedule H1 register, may need to be retained for statutory periods). When no longer required, data is securely deleted or anonymised in accordance with the DPDP Act, 2023.

5. How we share data

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:

  • licensed pharmacies, distributors and logistics partners strictly to fulfil your order;
  • payment gateways to process payments;
  • the service providers who run this website and our messaging for us: Netlify (website hosting), Neon (database), Meta WhatsApp through AiSensy (WhatsApp messages), Google (the AI that drafts replies in the website chat and on our WhatsApp — the “Anavrin Assistant” — and Google Translate if you choose another language), Brevo (sign-in emails) and Razorpay (payments). They may only use the data to provide their service to us. Please do not share your medical history in the website chat;
  • registered medical practitioners or pharmacists for prescription verification, where applicable;
  • regulatory authorities, law-enforcement or courts where required by law.

Any third party with whom we share data is required to protect it and use it only for the purposes for which it was shared.

6. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may:

  • request access to the personal information we hold about you;
  • request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • request deletion of your data, where there is no overriding legal requirement to retain it;
  • withdraw consent for certain processing activities; and
  • raise a grievance with our designated contact.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

7. Security & data-breach notification

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls and secure handling of prescription uploads. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

In the event of a personal-data breach, we will take prompt remedial action and notify the Data Protection Board of India and the affected users as required under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Rules made under it.

8. Cookies

We use only what the website needs: a sign-in cookie if you log in; a random visitor number (av_vid, kept in your browser) so we can count visits without knowing who you are — we do not store your IP address with it; and, only if you pick a language other than English, Google’s googtrans cookie, which remembers your choice. We use no advertising or tracking cookies. You can clear these in your browser settings at any time.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised version takes effect when posted here, with an updated “last updated” date.

10. Grievance Officer & contact

In line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, and the Information Technology Rules, 2021, we have appointed a Grievance Officer for privacy questions, data-access or erasure requests, consent withdrawal, and any grievance:
